A pair of zinc finials, salvaged from architectural use and carrying a gorgeous patina that cannot be manufactured. The surface has weathered through layers of grey, slate-blue and verdigris green, the result of decades of exposure. With paint losses and oxidisation, the surface reads as texture rather than damage. Each finial has a slightly different character.

Architecturally, these would have topped gate posts, railings, or roof ridgelines. Removed from that context they become sculptural objects with serious presence. Set on a shelf, a mantelpiece, or used as bookends, they hold their own against almost anything you put beside them. Sold as a pair.
