A small Victorian tabletop chest of drawers in oak, in excellent condition. Four drawers in total with two shallow above two deeper, the lower drawer incorporating a skirted base detail that extends the visual depth of the piece. Turned wooden handles throughout, original to the piece.

The scale and configuration suggest this was made for a specific purpose: a watchmaker's workshop chest, or a lady's dressing table piece to keep her gloves and mirror, designed to keep small items organised and to hand. Small Victorian furniture of this type was made with the same joinery standards as larger case pieces; at this scale the craftsmanship is very evident.
