Hand-Thrown Stoneware Pot with Scrollwork Iron Cradle

Price

£48.00

A hand-thrown stoneware vessel, its rounded form defined by tight horizontal ribbing and a ruffled, crimped rim. The surface carries a layered patina, chalk-white slip worn back to raw terracotta, the result of age, use, or both. Mounted in a wrought iron display cradle with scrolled feet and circular side handles.

Consistent with the folk pottery traditions of the Mediterranean basin (southern Spain, Morocco, Greece), where this form of storage vessel has been produced largely unchanged for centuries.
