A brass water jug and matching tray by Joseph Sankey & Sons of Bilston, England, dating to the late Victorian or Edwardian period, circa 1900–1910. The body is pressed in JS&S's distinctive crocodile-skin pattern, achieved not by hand-hammering but by mechanical press, giving the texture a satisfying regularity across the entire surface.

To find the jug and tray together as a matched set is uncommon; most have long since been separated. Originally made to carry hot water to the wash basin before modern plumbing made rituals like this obsolete.

The brass has mellowed to a warm, slightly muted gold that suits the Arts and Crafts spirit of the piece.
