A large hand-thrown terracotta jug from Turkey, in the traditional amphora form with a rounded, generous body rising to a narrow neck with a single arched handle. The surface carries a heavily weathered, chalky patina. Vessels of this type were historically used across Anatolia for water and oil storage, made by hand on regional potteries and prized as much for their scale as their function.

At this size it works best as a statement piece either floor-standing, filled with tall dried stems or branches, or the centre-piece of a tablescape display.
