Welcome to the Haus: Our New Website Is Here — and So Are We

The shop has been open since December 2024. Now the website has joined it — and there's quite a bit to explore.

If you've walked past us on Church Road in Hove, or stumbled in on a Wednesday afternoon and spent longer than you planned, you'll already know what Haus of Palette is about. For everyone else: hello. We're glad you're here.

Haus of Palette is an independent homewares, furniture and interiors shop on Church Road, Hove — and this website is the next part of what we're building. Not a replacement for the shop (nothing replaces the shop), but a place to stay connected between visits, discover new arrivals before they sell, and find out what's happening in the space.

Here's what to expect.

A shop that feels like a home you want to live in

The idea behind Haus of Palette is simple, even if the execution takes a little more thought: vintage and antique pieces are extraordinary, but they're often shown in environments that do nothing for them. Stripped lighting, crowded rails, no sense of how anything might actually live in a home.

We set out to fix that. The shop on Church Road is dressed like a home — room sets that feel lived-in, corners that spark something, objects placed so you can actually imagine them in your own space. Antique next to contemporary. Brass next to acrylic. Colours that shouldn't work together but somehow do.

The result is a space that's part shop, part inspiration. You don't have to buy anything to get something from a visit. Though most people do leave with treasure.

Prices range from around £8 for smaller finds to pieces worth saving for — because being inspired by a space shouldn't depend on what you can spend today.

What you'll find on the website

The shop changes constantly. New pieces come in from our secret sources, including markets across England and suppliers we've built relationships with over time.

The website is where we'll share those arrivals — vintage furniture, antique objects, contemporary homeware and one-of-a-kind pieces.

Pieces we've loved recently: a 1920s side unit from Hungary, a 19th-century apothecary cabinet, a 1950s starburst mirror, a pair of bamboo garden chairs, and a Strand Theatre light from the 1950s that stopped everyone who walked through the door. Stock moves quickly. The website is the best way to stay ahead of it.

Events: workshops, creative evenings and what's coming up

The shop isn't just a shop. From the beginning, the intention was to make it a space where things happen — intimate, well-considered events that feel like a natural extension of the environment rather than something tacked on.

We've hosted calligraphy evenings with Danielle Brooks, Ikebana floristry sessions with Khin Chong of Flower Factory London, ink drawing workshops with Poppy Sullivan, and picture-frame painting classes that turn out to be considerably more meditative than they sound. Sip-and-shops. Seasonal evenings. More to come.

All upcoming events will be listed on the website's Events page, with booking links through Eventbrite where tickets are required. If you want to make sure you don't miss anything, Instagram is the fastest route — but the website will always have the full picture.

Events are intimate by design. The kind of evening where you leave with something made, something learned, and a reason to rearrange your living room.

Interiors services: a second pair of eyes on your space

One of the most common conversations in the shop goes something like: 'I love what you've done here — do you help people with their own homes?'

Yes. We offer a range of interiors services for people who want a considered perspective on their space — from a focused single-room consultation to moodboards to full home assessments. You don't need a blank canvas or a clear brief. Most people start with a room that's almost right, or a home that doesn't quite feel like them yet.

Why Church Road, Hove — and why now

Central Hove is one of those areas that rewards the people who take the time to walk it properly. It's an eclectic mix — independent retailers, artisan shops, places that have been here for years alongside things that are just getting started. We're part of the latter, though we like to think the shop has the feeling of somewhere that's always been here.

Hove itself has a particular quality to it. A little calmer than Brighton, though no less interesting. The kind of place where people care about their homes, value the businesses on their doorstep, and tend to return to the places they trust. That's the community we're building towards — and this website is part of how we do it.

If you haven't visited yet: we're open six days a week, easy to get to from Brighton and the surrounding area, and the kind of shop that's better in person than it could ever be described.
